NASA "Summer Showdown" Sebring June 25-26
NASA's "Summer Showdown" at the historic 3.7 mile Sebring International Raceway is coming up quickly. This June 25-26 weekend includes HPDE for all driver levels, NASA Time Trial and plenty of action packed wheel to wheel racing for licensed NASA racers.....featuring the 5Xracing NASA Spec Miata "smackdown" Challenge! NASA guest race group 944 Cup and 944 Super Cup Series racers join the NASA FL Thunder Group for a split start and their own points series.
NASA guest series Intercontinental Trophy Cup Racing (ITC)
returns for the next round in their 2011 Porsche Cayman series. Everyone is invited to take part in the ITC car cruise to Chicanes for dinner and socializing departing from the paddock Friday at 6PM under police escort. Reminder paddock access starts 3PM on Friday June 24 and will be open continuously up through Sunday 7 PM. Mark Rutenberg is new NASA FL race director
NASA FL welcomes Mark Rutenberg
to the helm of the RACE division program. Fun, friendly and "he knows his stuff" about good sportsmanship, clean competitive driving and what it takes to keep racers happy! Mark Rutenberg is well known in the FL motorsports community and NASA FL is pleased that Mark has accepted the commitment to share his track knowledge and leadership skills to help NASA racers and aspiring racers as our new Race Director. As an extra bonus Mark's better half, Amy Rutenberg brings enthusiam and a cheery "how can I help" spirit along with her leadership role as NASA FL Chief of Race Grid and covering many admin and track day duties for NASA FL racers. HPDE Upgrades at HMS May 21-22 event
NASA FL Chief Instructor Luis Jimenez and his check ride instructor staff got a workout at the May 21-22 event with those requesting upgrade evaluations in the HPDE ladder program.
